Brewery Ommegang |  Cooperstown, NY

Rating: 96 Points  |  ABV: 9.5%  |  IBU: 26
PRICE: $11.99  |  4-Pack Bottles

An oldie but a goodie! I’ve loved this hefty Belgian-style strong golden ale for years and felt the need to throw it more love. Essentially a Tripel, this big beer is surprisingly nimble with its alcohol well-hidden beneath flavors of peach, banana, pepper, and biscuit. Delicious!

The Kaiser

Imperial Oktoberfest Lager

Avery Brewing Co. | Boulder, CO

Rating: 93Points  |  ABV: 8.0%  |  IBU: 24
PRICE: $10.99  |  6-Pack Cans

It’s in cans this year! This is a big, bold, dry and spicy brew that’s great for those who dare to drink differently. What more could you want in a beer? It’s not your everyday lager and not really a Märzen, but a great beer and perfect for a nightcap with some friends by the fire. Bravo hops lead the way into a sweet Vienna and Munich malt backbone that will make your taste buds want to dance!

Lately, I’ve been revisiting some of the beers that first got me interested in craft beer. This one is a great one. I believe that you can always go home, and this beer reminds me of home. No hop character to talk about, but lots of toffee, some coffee and a little sweetness to tickle your tongue. This is a classic that any beer lover must try!
