Although Napa and Sonoma are the first appellations that come to mind when you think of California wines, there are many others to explore! This month we are tackling “Other California” in Over 90 Under $30. From Zinfandel in Lodi, Pinot Noir from Anderson, and even Rhone varietals in Paso Robles, choices are almost endless. Please consider branching out and trying these gems!
Anderson Valley, California
A California staple for sparkling wine. Steeped in the 200-year old tradition of Louis Roederer in Champagne. Very fragrant and playful. Apples, hazelnut, and brioche star in this beauty. Great for having a toast when the kids go back to school!

Central Coast, California
What a great offering from California’s central coast! Pear and apple notes are rounded out with rich buttercream. Perfect with grilled chicken!

Michael David Earthquake
Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
Large and in charge! This earthquake is full of jammy blackfruit, allspice, and cigar box! A homerun out of Lodi!

Estate Syrah 2015
Ballard Canyon, California
Very pretty representation of new world syrah with an old world influence. Currant, fig, and olive notes are met with smoky dried meat and peppery spice properties. Always one of our favorites at the Jungle!
