Tulip Tree Trillium – Inspiration from Across the Sea

For us, this is the best French inspired cheese this side of the Atlantic. Made by the Tulip Tree Creamery out of Indianapolis, this creamy, soft ripened cheese would turn even the biggest Francophile into a fan. The cheese, when ripe, is one of the creamiest made in the States. 

Having only arrived on the scene a few years ago, in 2014, it rivals some of the better soft ripened cheese makers out there. It also helps that the founders have worked for a number of high profile creameries, such as Cowgirl Creamery and Ludwig Farms. 

Tulip Tree is a rather small outfit with only 3 full-time employees and 5 part-time employees. Regardless, they have managed to create something very special with this cheese. Flavor wise, it has the ultimate buttery overtones that you look for, just enough to make you want more. We recommend pairing this with a nice, mild Pinot Noir, or maybe Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale from Boulevard Brewing Company.
