Alef Salami – Holding Onto Tradition

Founded in Chicago in 2000, the Alef Salami Company has become one of the top producers of high quality eastern European style salami’s in the states. Focusing on Russian and Ukrainian, recipes they hold as close to tradition as possible. 

Alec Mikhaylov immigrated to the states in 1992 and started the company out of his home kitchen. They focused on Russian delis for the first few years they were open, but as word spread about the quality of the product they expanded distribution to a much wider variety of different places. At Jungle Jim’s, we’re proud to carry a great selection of their dry-cured salamis, as well as pre-sliced selections. We carry a variety of pork, beef, pork and beef, and turkey salami!

You can find whole Alef Salami at The Cheese Shop at both Jungle Jim’s locations for $6.99 each, while the pre-sliced runs $4.49-$4.99 each.
