Deadlines.  I used to blow the curve in college whenever an assignment was due, and turn in my work weeks ahead of everyone else (I know, I know – a brown nose move if ever there was one).  Exuberance gives way to infinite responsibilities I guess, as we get older and more things to do pile up on our proverbial plates.

I’ve fallen WAY behind in my blogging duties, with a whole host of wines to get to here at JJWB, but good things I hope come to those of you who wait, right?

Anyway, recently our Wine Trends rep Kerri dropped in with a quintet of great wines from the West Coast:

Resolute Chardonnay Sonoma Mountain 2015.  Crisp notes of peach, pear and melon aromas and flavors mingle with hints of vanilla cream, toasted nuts and lemon meringue.

Truchard Chardonnay Carneros 2014.  A bit fleshier and richer than the Resolute, you’ve got more stone fruit, custard and buttercream characteristics here.  Not quite a butter bomb, but headed in that direction.

Raymond Merlot R Collection California 2015.  Medium-bodied with juicy blue fruits, hints of dark plum, black pepper and crushed stones.

Canvasback Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain 2013.  From Duckhorn’s first Washington venture, this bold, full-bodied red gives you lots of black fruits, cedar, dried herbs, pepper and baking spices.

Truchard Cabernet Sauvignon Carneros 2012.  Leans toward Bordeaux in style, this cooler-climate Cab gives you drier notes of black cherries and black currants, tobacco, graphite and dried herbs.
