This business, you tend to run into a lot of the same people over and over again, whether they are transitioning into a new job or you are, the song “It’s A Small World After All” couldn’t be more appropriate than for the wine industry sometimes.  Take for example a recent visit from Matt Bonanno.  Matt’s dad, Ardie, has been a legend in this next of the woods, and we’ve all kinda watched Matt take the Bonanno name out to Napa and turn it into a solid winery.  Of course, catching up with Matt is always good, and it was nice to do so with his wines as well.

Matthew Fritz Sauvignon Blanc North Coast 2016.  Crisp, clean style of Sauvignon Blanc with a hint of guava and grapefruit.  Vibrant and racy all the way through to the finish.

Matthew Fritz Chardonnay Alexander Valley/Sonoma County 2014.  Round, creamy mouthfeel with vanilla custard, apple and tangerine notes.

Matthew Fritz Rosé Sonoma County 2016.  Bright strawberry and rhubarb notes, vibrant acidity and hints of rose petal, white pepper and apricot.

Matthew Fritz Pinot Noir Carneros 2014.  Fresh, juicy red and black fruits, pepper, cola and spice notes abound.  Very well-made and a great value.

Bonanno Pinot Noir Carneros 2013.  Juicy red fruit in the nose and on the palate, with black pepper, walnut and vanilla.

Matthew Fritz Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast 2014.  Hints of blackberries, smoke, pepper and turned earth.  Medium-to-full-bodied with a smooth, velvety finish.

Bonanno Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2014.  A helluva value!  Full bodied, rich and dense with black currants, blackberries, mocha, espresso and cigar box.
