We love when companies combine charity with things that taste awesome, so when we heard about and tried a few things from Voodoo Chef, we knew we had to share it with as many people as we could!
Featuring hot sauces, BBQ sauces, spice blends, and rubs, Voodoo Chef takes a collective, collaborative approach to their creations while making sure that a portion of their sales go to benefit kids in a unique way. By partnering with a local school and other local businesses, Voodoo Chef is dedicated to bringing the culinary arts within reach to kids who may not normally have the opportunity to pursue them.
The products themselves, it turns out, are pretty fantastic and with the variety they offer, you’re bound to find something you like! Check out a few of our favorites:
Firehouse Smoked Pepper Hot Sauce – With the base pepper a smoked habanero, this one packs some serious heat while keeping it flavorful (which, as you know, is what I think a great hot sauce should be). This is a savory sauce, but will work well with just about anything you want to add some heat and flavor to – try it in your next chili, or even your next chicken noodle soup!
Smokehouse BBQ Sauce – We’re suckers for a good, smoky BBQ sauce, so this one hits all the right notes for us. With just a bit of cayenne, this one has a little warmth to it, but the sweet and smoky flavors are front and center. Great for ribs, on steak, or for something a little extra special on chicken wings or tenders.
Dirt Seasoning/Spice Blend – Okay… stick with us on this one. There’s coffee in it. A lot like our friends from Angry Irishman and their Red Eye rub, this one has ground coffee playing a key role in how it tastes. The big difference, though, is the sweetness from the brown sugar in the Voodoo Chef blend. This will take your ribs, steaks, and pork chops to a whole new level. Trust us.
Magic Signature Rub – Another sweet take on a rub, this is a great way to step things up a bit and really give pulled pork a little extra oomph. Lots of paprika and garlic, with some cumin and chili powder to round things out with some cane sugar and brown sugar… sorry… we’re getting a bit distracted thinking about this one…
Be sure to stop by and see your hot sauce geeks at Jungle Jim’s. We’re always here to answer questions and crack open a bottle or two for you to sample.
Until next time! Keep it flavorful, and keep it hot.
