Japanese Kit Kats

Did you know that Kit Kats are the most popular chocolate brand in Japan? The name “Kit Kat” sounds like ‘kitto katsu,’ a typical Japanese expression of good luck! Just one of a few reasons why these crunchy treats have been enjoyed by many throughout the country. From Green tea to Matcha, Nestle’s Japanese Kit Kats has been wowing foodies worldwide since its creation in 1973. Since then, popular flavors have been introduced, giving the classic treat a new international flair. Wild flavors such as soy sauce and ginger ale have certainly caught the attention of many. We suggest grabbing a variety to try. Visit our Discoveries Display in-store to find these unique goodies & more!

Sushi Rice

Japanese rice or uruchimai is the staple of the Japanese diet consisting of short translucent grains. When cooked, it has a sticky texture such that it can easily be picked up and eaten with chopsticks. Outside Japan, it is labeled sushi rice, as this is one of its common uses. This rice is a must-have in your house at all times! Rice has many other uses besides consummation. Whether you’ve dropped your phone in water and need a quick rescue or looking for an easy DIY hack! We suggest trying the Sukina brand for an authentic Japanese rice experience. Find this brand and more at our Discoveries display today!

Matcha Powder

Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves. The green tea plants used for matcha are shade-grown for three to four weeks before harvest, and the stems and veins removed during processing. The powdered form of matcha is consumed differently from tea leaves or tea bags, as it is suspended in a liquid, typically water or milk. One cup of matcha, made from 4 teaspoons of powder, generally packs about 280 mg of caffeine! If you’re looking for a new way to get your energy in the morning, we suggest grabbing a tin from our Discoveries display and giving it a try!

Kracie Kits

There’s no doubt that Japan is known for its pop of color and wild sense of imagination! Kracie’s Kits are a perfect example of how the Japanese incorporate fun into their snacking habits. These DIY Candy Kits may look like an average meal, but we promise you they are far from it! Grab a box from our Discoveries Display and treat yourself. We suggest trying the Hamburger meal, which takes a traditional American dish and transforms it into a sweet, exciting treat.
