Here in the Tri-State, you’d be hard pressed to find wine from New York State that wasn’t from Bully Hill or Hazlitt, and aside from a couple of wineries (Ravines and Boundary Breaks), you’d certainly come up short.  Enter Damiani Wine Cellars from the Finger Lakes AVA in New York State.

From the eastern shores of Seneca Lake, our newest NY entry into Southwestern Ohio makes a splash with a quartet of great wines:

Damiani Semi-Dry Riesling 2015.  Slightly sweet, this tasty white wine shows off the potential of German varietals in NY with something minerally, vibrant and showcasing lime zest, ginger and green apple notes.

Damiani Gewurtztraminer 2015.  Spicy and floral, this zesty white wine gives you lemon peel, mineral and white flower notes and finishes with racy acidity.

Damiani Pinot Noir Davis Vineyard 2012.  There is a lot of oak here; it’s showing off loads of vanilla and baking spice, like a cherry cobbler right out of the oven.  Finishes with bright acidity and long, lingering notes of baked cherries and red berries.

Damiani MC2 2014.  This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc is surprisingly robust with dark berry fruit, dusty earth and leather components building into a palate of blackberries, mocha and tobacco.
