Spread Some Love with Nettle Meadow Fromage Frais

Picture

The Nettle Meadow Creamery out of Warrensburg, New York have just released their new fresh cow and goat cheese spreads. They come in flavors like Apple Cider, Fig & Honey, Truffle and Roasted Red Pepper, so there’s a spread for every occasion and palate.

The cheese itself is very smooth, with an almost whipped consistency. The mix of cow and goat milk is blended well, with the creamy cow and the earthy goat working together to make a consistent, and flavorful balance. The different flavors in each variety are also very well balanced, making each variety unique, flavorful and intriguing in their own way without being overpowering.

The Apple Cider variety was the 2nd Prize winner at an American Cheese Society competition this summer. Founded in 1990, Nettle Meadow now has over 300 goats and dozens of sheep and cows. Interestingly – and somewhat amusingly – the bottom of each container shows a picture of the goat who helped make the cheese.

Nettle Meadow Fromage Frais can be found at The Cheese Shop at both Jungle Jim’s locations for $5.49 for each 5 oz container.
