Chianti and Northern Tuscany - Wine and Food 2024

Travel to Greve in Chianti, Italy to meet Leigh for our fifth wine and food tour in the beautiful region of Tuscany. Enjoy seven nights in quaint Greve, located between Florence and Siena. Our Hotel (Albergo Del Chianti) is on the charming main piazza and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops.

From our base in Greve, we will visit the historical villages of San Gimignano, Panzano, Lucca and Certaldo. We have arranged a private guide in Lucca to give us a walking tour and we’ll enjoy lunch at a local winery. Truffle hunting and lunch at a family lodge await us Certaldo. A Vernaccia wine experience with local foods will start our day in San Gimignano; we’ll end the day at a local winery with dinner featuring regional saffron. A sunset walking dinner tour in Florence will end a free day in the city where you can visit museums, spend the day shopping or leisurely watching the sights and sounds of the city. It goes without saying that we will dine with Dario Cecchini – The Butcher of Panzano – for a most memorable steak workshop. We will spend our last day in Chianti with a visit to a local winery and farewell lunch at the beautiful Villa Bordoni.

Benvenuti in Italia! Travel to Cento, Italy to meet Leigh Ochs and our host, Don Govoni, for our tenth unique culinary tour “off the beaten path” in the Emilia-Romagna region. Enjoy eight nights in beautiful Cento at the Hotel Europa and take leisurely day trips to the mountains, the plains and the Adriatic coast, all the while sampling the region’s splendid cuisine. Indulge in local specialties including handmade tortellini, cappellacci and artisanal cured meats and cheeses. Taste regional delicacies like borlenghi and tigelle – foods that even most Italians have never heard of, accompanied by local wines including the real Lambrusco. Bordeaux, France – Wine and Food 2024

Friday, May 17 – Friday, May 24, 2024

Travel to Bordeaux, France to meet Saundra Toerpe for a week-long immersive experience highlighting the wines and food of the region. Enjoy seven nights in the center of Bordeaux at Hotel de Sèze – within walking distance of many restaurants and shops.

From our base in the city center, we will visit Medoc, Saint Emillion, Graves and Pessac-Leognan for wine tastings, tours and lunches. A gourmet walking tour in Bordeaux will introduce us to many local delicacies. Learn history and legends as you taste food and wine along the way. We’ll spend a day in Medoc on a transformative journey where tradition, passion and exceptional wines converge; enjoying lunch at one of the wineries. A “Wine on the Table” activity at another vineyard introduces the main rules of wine service and pairings to ensure you become a savvy host. In Saint Emillion we will visit a Grand Cru Chateau for a visit, tasting and lunch – followed by a private visit of the underground monuments of the village. We will take a day to visit Arcachon Bay and Pilat Sand Dune – a unique seaside resort. You will taste fresh oysters and wine from the local sheds and enjoy a delicious lunch with a stunning view over the largest sand dune of Europe. An amazing wine and cheese pairing experience awaits you in a unique cheese cellar in Bordeaux that houses more than 100 cheeses in an underground vault. We will find time to explore the beautiful Cité du Vin wine museum and so much more.
