The Kids’ Corner – February 2021

Back to feed

Welcome to The Kids' Corner!

Parents tend to have a few run-ins with picky eaters. For this reason, we’ve created The Kids Corner: products for kids and reviewed by kids! We hope these suggestions may ease some tension when walking down the aisles; after all, it’s a Jungle out there!

Brown Coconut

Brown coconuts are the mature fruit of the Coconut Palm. The clear juice on the inside, known as coconut water (not coconut milk), is slightly sweet, slightly salty, and loaded with natural electrolytes. The meat is dense, rich, and chewy. Some brown coconuts may have a seam, or score, around the equator, which is designed to make them easier to crack open.

Basmati Rice

Basmati rice is typically grown in India and Pakistan–with India producing about two-thirds of the world’s supply. It is a long-grain rice that is characterized by a light nutty flavor and floral aroma, and it’s popular in rice pilaf and as a side dish for curry. It comes in white and brown varieties, the latter being higher in fiber and possessing a nuttier, more intense flavor.
