Stone Fruit Compote with Cinnamon and Ginger

Ingredients (yields 1 ½ cups)
3 cups (1 pound) coarsely chopped stone fruit, such as plums, peaches and nectarines
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon water
¼ teaspoon salt
1 small cinnamon stick
3 slices fresh ginger
Directions
Combine ingredients in a medium saucepan and simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until fruit is soft, 10-12 minutes.
Cool, remove cinnamon stick and ginger, and serve with grilled fish or chicken or over frozen yogurt.
