This is a 1-2-3 mix so you can easily mix larger quantities, like a pitcher. (ex. 1 cup of Tequila, 2 cups of sangrita, and 3 cups of grapefruit soda)
Viuda de Sanchez is used to fix "Coctel Vampiro" which translates to Vampire Cocktail in Spanish. This will spice up your Halloween party, Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) celebration, or any occasion.
Owned by Casa Cuervo, Viuda de Sanchez is by far the best selling sangrita (Spanish for little blood or bloody) in Mexico. Although it looks like a Bloody Mary Mix, it is much different in taste and ingredients. It is slightly viscous like juice concentrate and is just about as sweet. It smells and tastes like a Hawaiian punch/orange drink with a little spice. There are no tomatoes in sangrita; the red color comes from chili de arbol. It refreshes and cleanses the palate after each sip and enhances the taste of your favorite Tequila.
Viuda de Sanchez may not always be in stock at Jungle Jim's, so please call to verify availability before coming in. If you'd like to make your own sangrita at home, you can do so easily with the juice of one orange and two limes, a dash of cayenne pepper or tabasco, and grenadine to taste.
Directions
Grab a highball glass or any cocktail glass and two small plates.
Squeeze two limes in one plate, and pour some coarse salt in the other plate.
Insert the rim of your glass into the lime juice and then into the salt.
Add some ice cubes.
Then add:
1 shot of Tequila Cuervo,
2 shots of Sangrita de la Viuda de Sanchez,
and 3 shots of Grapefruit soda.
