Discoveries at the Jungle: POM Pomegranate Juice

For the month of December, we are exploring the world of Pomegranates! Join us!

​Lynda Resnick founded POM Wonderful in the mid 90s when she purchased a pistachio orchard and noticed that there were pomegranate trees on the property. Intrigued, she began to sponsor medical research studies related to consuming pomegranates. By the year 2000, the positive effects of pomegranates were published and Lynda started building out new pomegranate orchards on the property.

​Today the Resnick’s own 9,000 acres of pomegranate trees in California’s Central Valley and have grown to be the largest producer of the fruit here in the United States. Their POM Juice is made from whole pressed pomegranates in order to capture polyphenol antioxidants from the rind, pith, and arils. Every 8 oz serving has as much potassium as an average banana, they contain no added sugar, non-GMO ingredients, are gluten free, and are certified kosher!

In addition to their flagship pomegranate juice, POM also has a variety of teas including peach passion, sweet tea, honey green tea, and lemonade tea.
