July is home to America’s birthday on July 4th. What better way to celebrate than opening a bottle of America’s wine, Zinfandel? The mighty Shiraz from Australia can not be duplicated anywhere else! Even though the grape is Syrah, the distinct terroir of Australia gives this grape its style and one-of-a-kind flavor. Whether from the Barossa, Coonawarra, Clare Valley, or McLaren Valley, these wines are spectacular. Australia as a whole has finally abandoned the concept of the sweet, overripe mass produced bulk wines that dominated the 1990s. Now, Australia is focused on quality delicious wines and I encourage everyone to give the wines from down under another shot!
